Step 1. Complete Online Application

Complete ALL parts of the online application form and then submit. Do not leave any sections blank unless it doesn’t apply to you.Once your online application is reviewed and accepted you will be invited for the first interview in person or over the phone. Your online application must include your current passport-size photo (your photo must be taken within 1month of the application). Online application without picture will not be processed.

Step 2.)  Submit the following documents

• Current Resume
• Personal statement
• Unofficial transcripts
• Copy of current driver license

Step 3.)  Attend the First Interview

The first interview is very important, since it gives us a chance to get to know you better. Everyone is offered the first interview regardless of their academic standings, grades, background, and education history. We give every one equal opportunity.

Step 4.) Submit the following documents

The following documents must be submitted before or at the second interview. These documents can be submitted in person at the second interview, or could be emailed (you can scan them and email it to documents@auofc.edu) 

• OfficialTranscripts
• Police clearance letter
• 3 letters of recommendation
• copy of your current passport
• $100 Nonrefundable Application Fee
• $1000 Nonrefundable Registration Fee
• Immunization records (TB, HBV, MMR, DPT)

Step 5.) Attend the Second interview  

The second interview is offered only to those students who are considered for admission. Please be advised that the $100 application fees is nonrefundable. You must pay the $100 application fees before or at the second interview.

Step 6.) You will receive an Acceptance or Rejection letter

The acceptance letter will be sent through email followed by a phone call to confirm the receipt of the acceptance letter. You must accept the admission offer within 10 days of receipt of the admission letter, failure to do so may result in your seat being assigned to another candidate, and your registration will be postponed to the next available term. This is because of limited seats offered per term. If you don’t receive your acceptance or rejection letter within 10 days after your 2nd interview, first make sure to check your junk box, otherwise call us 123.456.7890

Step 7.)  Receive the welcome package including

• Stethoscope
• Scrubs and white coat with school logo on it
• American University of Curacao books in your name
• $6000 first term tuition
• Register for classes

Official Transcripts
All prior credits or degrees must be verified by an official transcript emailed/mailed directly to Avicina Medical Academy by the issuing institution(s). Official transcript must be received directly from the institution after the first interview or presented at the second interview, officially sealed and stamped. An official transcript must be received from each institution. Foreign transcripts will be evaluated on a course by course basis.  

Personal Statement
Applicants must submit a Personal Statement before the first interview. The Personal Statement will offer an opportunity for the applicant to describe those personal attributes, characteristics, and interests that underlie the decision to study medicine. Participation in research projects, hobbies, awards, Scholarships, and health-related employment or volunteer work may be considered in the deliberations of the admissions board. The personal statement indicates your purpose for considering a career in medicine; and why you would be an asset to the Avicina School of Medicine. Send your personal statement along with other required documents as a single email to documents@avicina.bz    

The $100.00 (U.S. dollars) Nonrefundable Application Fee  
Due after the first interview. Applications received without the application fee will not be reviewed. Mail or bring a check or money order made payable to Avicina Medical Academy. 

Letters of Recommendation 
Letters of recommendations are confidential appraisals by college advisors, instructors, physicians, and others. Letter of recommendations are an important part of the application process. Recommendations should be sought from individuals who know the applicant well. Three letters of recommendation should be sought from:
  
1. From a professor/teacher who taught you
2. From an employee or prominent community member
3. From a hospital/clinic where you volunteered/worked, or from a physician
